PLATFORM ECONOMY AND NEW BUSINESS MODELS FOR THE INSURANCE SECTOR IN RGI’S SPEECH AT THE 23RD INSURANCE SUMMIT

Prevention, protection, digital transformation and sustainability are the focus topics of this year's edition of the 24 Ore Group's event

New needs, new markets and new opportunities: the great transformation of the insurance market – this is the theme of the 23rd edition of the Insurance Summit, the leading event for the Italian insurance market, which takes place on Thursday 11th November from 10.00 AM onwards. The Insurance Summit is organised by the 24 Ore Group in collaboration with Il Sole 24 Ore and has RGI, the European leader in the digital transformation of Insurers, as its main partner.

The summit, which will be held online, represents an occasion to discuss how the insurance market is changing in light of the new post-Covid society structure. It will offer a specific and timely analysis of potential developments and future scenarios, taking into consideration essential values such as prevention and protection, together with the fundamental role of digital transformation and an increasingly sustainable vision.

Sustainability will also be one of the aspects which will be addressed by RGI through the speech by Cécile André Leruste, RGI Group CEO, who will be in conversation with Laura Galvagni, Il Sole 24 Ore journalist, to discuss the new business models enabled by the platform economy.

Thanks to the new digital platforms, Insurers can build more engaging customer relations and share their knowledge with their business partners, thus multiplying the opportunities to engage the policyholder, meet their needs and build customer loyalty.

Consequently, Insurers can not only develop more rapidly new insurance products and services tailored on customers’ preferences and new digital habits, but also create a whole new offering by recombining traditional products and services according to the newly acquired information and embedded into non-core services.

Insurers can benefit from new business models enabled by Cloud digital platforms with regard to customer engagement and the growth of business and partnership opportunities with fintech companies”, Cécile André Leruste, RGI Group CEO, has said. “The challenge insurers need to overcome will be the development of an Insurance Platform Ecosystem capable of generating value locally in terms of consumer behaviour, regulation and sustainability. In this scenario, time will be key for the successful definition and implementation of use cases”.
