RGI GROUP sponsor of the Annual delle Assicurazioni 15th edition
RGI Group sponsored, for the third consecutive year, the “Annual delle Assicurazioni”, an annual event organized by The Sole24ore and considered a benchmark for the entire insurance sector.
The fifteenth edition of this meeting was an opportunity to discuss the most current issues that characterize this delicate phase of international financial turbulence.
Some of the most expert delegates of the financial and insurance sector, both Italian and international, discussed about the distribution strategies of insurance products as well as about possible alternative channels and their effectiveness for welfare. Insurers may thus be considered to support investments only to the extent that this happens between Public and Private sectors and with an agreement on tax havens. The central objective of the industry is focusing on the core business. As households are resuming gradually to save, the challenge now is to find new ways of collecting. Innovation and growth are therefore the recovery’s key drivers.
The C-levels of the various insurance groups shall identify innovative strategies, focusing especially on different models of distribution. As Giuliani (Strategy Manager of Generali) explained, it is time to play on distribution channels; companies need to grow and diversify the distribution of products among different channels, by means of models that vary at global level. Even the bancassurance, as argued by Dixneuf (CEO of Aviva), should focus on the subject of distribution channels. Franco Ellena (GD of Unipol) is of the same opinion, supporting the proposal of recovering organizational flexibility. The crisis and the digital, indeed, have totally changed the structure of consumption and companies need to adapt themselves (Mazzucchelli – CEO of Cattolica). Sartorel (AD – Allianz) also said that the Italian market’s problems not only affect the distribution channel but they are incidental to a tougher problem, which originates from business decisions that do not fully exploit the market’s possibilities.
Insurance companies should undertake the challenge to market’s recovery, hand in hand "with a different attitude".
