Artificial Intelligence at RGI:
our approach

Artificial Intelligence is increasingly shaping how organizations operate, innovate, and interact with customers and partners.
This impact is particularly relevant in the sectors where RGI operates, ICT and insurance, where AI is applied across the value chain and has already proven its ability to improve efficiency, enable innovation, and strengthen competitiveness.

At the same time, the uncontrolled or ungoverned use of Artificial Intelligence may introduce risks that require careful assessment and regulation. Ethical implications, transparency, data protection, and accountability are central elements to ensure trust in AI-enabled systems.
For this reason, RGI has defined a clear and structured approach to Artificial Intelligence, aligned with the principles promoted by the European Union and reflected in the EU AI Act.
Our goal is to foster innovation responsibly, ensuring that AI is developed and used in a way that is ethical, secure, and compliant.

Shared responsibility in the use of AI

Within RGI Group, the approach to Artificial Intelligence is based on shared responsibility.
All individuals involved in the design, development, implementation, and use of AI systems are responsible for the decisions made with the support of these technologies.
AI is conceived as a tool to augment human judgment, not to replace it.
This principle ensures that accountability always remains with people, reinforcing trust, control, and awareness throughout the entire lifecycle of AI systems.

RGI has adopted a dedicated Group Policy on Artificial Intelligence, defining a comprehensive internal governance framework and a structured risk assessment process for AI systems.

This framework includes:
  • Clear principles for the ethical and transparent use of AI
  • Risk evaluation mechanisms aligned with applicable regulations
  • Defined roles and responsibilities across the organization
  • Behavioral rules that all recipients are required to comply with

The objective is to ensure that all AI systems developed or used by RGI are compliant with regulatory requirements and consistent with the Group Compliance Program.

RGI applies a risk-based approach to Artificial Intelligence, in line with the EU AI Act.
Each AI system is assessed according to its intended use, context, and potential impact, allowing RGI to:

  • Identify and mitigate risks early
  • Apply appropriate safeguards and controls
  • Ensure transparency and traceability
  • Protect fundamental rights, privacy, and data security

This structured approach enables RGI to innovate while maintaining a high level of reliability and regulatory alignment.

RGI promotes widespread awareness and understanding of its Artificial Intelligence Policy across the entire organization.
To ensure responsible and informed use of AI systems, the Group provides multi-level training programs, including:

  • General AI literacy courses addressed to all employees
  • Specialized training for professionals directly involved in the design, development, and governance of AI systems

This continuous learning approach supports a shared culture of responsibility, enabling people to use AI consciously, effectively, and in line with RGI’s ethical principles.
