Generali selects RGI’s PASS Insurance platform to empower multi-country Life, P&C and Claims operations

13 February 2026

RGI, the leading European provider of digital core platforms for the insurance industry, today announced that Generali has selected RGI’s PASS Insurance platform, following a comprehensive international evaluation, to centralize and modernize its Life, P&C and Claims core systems across multiple European countries.

PASS Insurance will enable Generali to operate a single core insurance platform across selected business units. The platform is already live in Spain and Switzerland, and is currently being extended to Portugal, Hungary, Slovenia and Croatia, covering an initial perimeter of approximately 15 million policies managed

PASS Insurance is a modern, modular, and fully integrated core insurance platform designed to operate at scale across multiple companies and countries, with a product layer that addresses local languages and regulations, for end-to-end policy and claims management. Its architecture allows the implementation of standardized processes and data across markets, enables scalable and continuous innovation through modularity, and combines strong headquarters governance and centralized operational control with the empowerment of business units through flexible configurability at local level.

PASS represents the technological backbone of Generali’s “Insurance in a Box” initiative, a key enabling pillar of the Insurer’s strategic plan around shared services.

The program will be managed and further enhanced by RGI and Generali Core Tech, a new software factory incorporated by Generali to advance Generali’s technological transformation in line with its strategic plan, by combining insurance expertise, technology capabilities and industrial-scale delivery.

This milestone is the result of significant long-term investments by RGI in R&D, platform modernization, and architectural transformation, which have led to a fully enterprise-grade, cloud-ready and AI-enabled core insurance and claims solution. Artificial Intelligence already plays a central role in the evolution of PASS, with AI-powered capabilities embedded into development, configuration, quality assurance, and operational processes, supported by a roadmap aimed at further accelerating automation, efficiency, and decision-making across the insurance value chain.

This project represents a benchmark for large, pan-European insurance groups seeking to reduce complexity, accelerate time-to-market and modernize their core systems across policy and claims, while maintaining strong central governance and flexibility at local level. The experience gained through the Generali program further strengthens RGI’s positioning as a strategic technology partner for insurers operating across multiple countries, offering a proven, scalable platform and a delivery model capable of supporting complex, multi-year transformation programs.

“Generali’s decision to select RGI after a highly competitive international process is a powerful validation of the vision, investments and expertise we have built over the years,” said Gianni Camisa, CEO of RGI. “PASS is not just a core system, but a strategic platform designed to enable shared services, operational excellence, and continuous innovation at scale. This initiative demonstrates how a modern core platform, combined with strong governance and effective collaboration, can become a reference point to empower digital insurance for pan-European players.”

“Generali’s decision to invest in our platform is a strong endorsement of RGI’s ability to establish and scale powerful competence centers around our core system,” said Paolo Simoni, Country Manager Italy of RGI “It reflects the trust placed in our technology and in our capability to transfer knowledge, develop advanced competencies, and enable long-term agility on a shared core platform designed to operate across multiple countries.”
